Outdoor benches for the Alstonville RSL Sub Branch.
Team Leader: Phillip Consalvo
G’day Members,
The Bench seat project is progressing well with thanks to Mick Stoneley and a few other members on the Tuesday Team.
We have assembled the sides and back rails for one seat and we will be focusing on assembling this seat very shortly. The timber is drying slowly and is proving to be very suitable for this type of project.
The seat slats are to be dressed and cut to length and we intend to screw them in place hopefully to prevent any serious warping.
These types of projects are a very positive way for the club to utilise the timber resources on hand and a great opportunity, for the club to generate some income.
A big thank you to the team working on this project. I know that the seats will be erected in a prominent position in Alstonville.

Timber Milling in Alstonville.
Team Leader: Harold Batson
Eight (8) members arrive at 08:30 for a 9:00 start Thursday 22nd July, they milled 3 huge Mango logs that produced 14 slabs of varying sizes plus enough posts to make a couple of tables.
The photos (39) will give you some indication of the amount of what goes on (it is still fun, though)
Thanks to Harold and all those that helped on the day.
